THE HANDS BEHIND THE TOOLS

My name is Nguyễn Anh Tuấn, and I am a wild-hearted kid pursuing a life of freedom. I am truly happy and grateful that this life has given me the chance to do everything I long to do.
I have always been drawn to design and making things by hand. From childhood, I made toys from wood, bamboo and other materials found in the Vietnamese countryside. Each time I turned a simple material into a finished object, it felt extraordinarily special and made me feel fully alive. As I grew older, leather held a strange fascination for me: its rustic beauty, its closeness to nature, its scent, the way it feels under the hand, even the sound of a hide being unrolled or a blade gliding across its surface… All of it captivated me.
I love the simple things in life, and I believe that comes through clearly in my work. My designs are often simple and refined, with a natural, rustic beauty while remaining carefully finished. I find inspiration in freedom, and in quietly pursuing something that few people may notice until it becomes an art. I am passionate about motorcycles, internal-combustion engines and, above all, journeys into nature — where I feel most like myself. These things deeply influence my work: natural beauty, at times a little raw and unpolished, yet possessing a character all its own.
I first came to leathercraft to make useful objects for myself. Then I wanted to turn it into my life's work. I had been learning for years before I finally found the motivation to truly begin a small craft workshop. I drew enormous inspiration from Little King Goods — he is truly remarkable, and his story changed my life in many ways. Dark Horse Goods was born partly from that inspiration, combined with my own story. The year I began DHG was also the Year of the Horse in the Eastern zodiac, and the dark horse itself carries many layers of meaning for me.
Thank you so much for visiting our little leather workshop. I hope you will love these pieces and that they become loyal companions throughout your life.
